Square Foot Gardening Strawberry Pyramid

If you want to learn how to build a simple pyramid planter, we recommend you to read the instructions and to plan the steps of the project thoroughly. Nevertheless, maybe the most important step of the woodworking project is to choose the right strawberry pyramid plans for your needs and budget. Don't forget to select weather-resistant materials for your project, as the planter will be exposed to rain and sunlight.

The preliminary stages are maybe the most important of the whole project, so don't forget to plan everything with attention and to adjust the size and the shape of the planter to suit your needs and to fit within the budget. Use cedar, pine or redwood, after making sure the slats are perfectly straight and in a very good visual condition. Check if the corners are right-angled before inserting the screws.

Building a strawberry pyramid

Building the base of the strawberry pyramid

Building the base of the strawberry pyramid

The first step of the project is to build the base of the woodworking project. Cut the 2×6 slats at the right size and lock them together with galvanized screws, after drilling pilot holes. Make sure the corners are right-angled by using a carpentry square.

Building the second tier

Building the second tier

Continue the project by attaching the second tier planter. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to cut both ends of the long components in a decorative manner. Drill pilot holes through the wooden slats to secure them to the base with galvanized screws.

Building the third tier

Continue the woodworking project by attaching the third planter, as described in the plans. Cut the components at the right size and lock them together with screws. Add waterproof glue to the joints, in order to enhance the rigidity of the pyramid planter.

Building the top planter

If you really want to make the strawberry planter stand out, then you should attach the small planter to the top of the structure. Cut the components at the right size and center the planter to the top of the structure. Drill pilot holes before inserting the screws, to prevent the wood from splitting.

Last but not least, you should take care of the finishing touches. Check if the components are secured into place properly and if the structure is rigid. Make sure there are no protruding screws or sharp edges that could injure you. Take a look over my other strawberry planter design, that is easy to build and super simple.

PRO TIP:  Fill the holes with a good wood filler and smooth the surface with 120-grit sandpaper. Apply several coats of paint or stain over the components, in order to protect them from decay.
